Artist Statement
As an artist, it is hard to pinpoint one reason or feeling I get from doing art. I like to branch out and try new things if I am given the opportunity and resources to. But one of the main reasons I create art is because I want to tell a story. When I create a piece or work, I always create or think about the story behind the piece. Who created this piece? (Someone other than me) Why did they create this piece? What do they want to say with this piece? Stories help me get into the mind of another person (or to create a person) and to think about why they do what they did. Even when others look at my work, I always like to wonder what kind of stories they can fabricate about my piece without me having to say anything. Storytelling is always something that interest me, and my creative process and mindset can sometimes border into a more psychological analysis.
